Frequently asked questions
Does having home care mean losing independence?
No. Independence is being in control of your own decisions. Home care means keeping charge of your day and your choices, with just as much help as the situation calls for. Some clients need a little support to keep living safely at home, others are recovering from a fall or an operation. Either way, the aim is the best possible outcome while you stay in control.
How can I trust a carer in my home?
Every carer goes through a thorough screening process, including a full background check and checks for compassion, identity, integrity and competence. We take on roughly 1 in 25 applicants, and most come to us through word of mouth from other families we look after.
How does Grow Care find the best carers?
Our rule is simple: we will not send a carer into your home that we would not welcome into our own. Carers stay with organisations built on trust, stability and respect, so that is what we build. You are welcome to meet one of our care managers before anything is agreed.
What if we do not get on with our carer?
Tell us, and we will arrange another carer quickly at no extra cost. A good personal match matters more than anything else, so your feedback shapes who we introduce next.
Do we get a say in choosing the carer?
Yes. We start by understanding the skills and the personality you are looking for, then make an introduction based on that and on our own experience. Client input is the biggest factor in a carer working out well.
What is the process for arranging a carer?
Call us for a short chat about what you need. We then visit at home for a free, no obligation assessment with everyone involved in the decision. Within 24 hours of that visit we can usually introduce a carer.
